Managing A320 HYD Failures

Although a DUAL hydraulic Failure is an improbable operation, the loss of two hydraulic systems systematically

causes the loss of the autopilot system, so the role of the PF in stabilizing the a/c flight path will be more demanding. A DUAL hydraulic malfunction is considered an Emergency situation (LAND ASAP in red on ECAM memo status) and shall be declared as such to the ATC.

In this ACTIVE RECALL Episode, you can find management recommendations in order to better sort HYD failures on the A320.

Managing A320 ADR Failures

ADR failures require time and crew coordination to evaluate the situation. Multiple failures may affect several systems in the aircraft. Particularly when failures occur at critical phases of flight (i.e., takeoff roll, after airborne, short final in IMC, go around in IMC), and when warnings are inhibited. Time is critical and may not be available to evaluate the situation and positively detect the faulty system.

In this ACTIVE RECALL Episode, you can find management recommendations in order to better sort ADR failures on the A320.
